Juan R. Gonzalez, 63, passed away on Jan. 16, 2012 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He was born on Aug. 18, 1948 in Mexicali to Juan and Esperanza Gonzalez. Juan graduated high school in Mexicali and received his AA from San Bernardino College and was on the Dean’s list twice.

HINESBURG — Tim Rensch netted 16 points to lead Rice Memorial over Champlain Valley, 66-36, in high school boys basketball Friday. Casey Tipson added 13 points, Jake Maynard had 13 and Marcus Willingham scored 11 for Rice (7-1).

CROSS COUNTRY Hawkins wins award Courtney Hawkins, a junior at Milford High School, was named the Gatorade New Hampshire Girls Cross Country runner of the year. The 5-foot-1 Hawks came the Meet of Champions individual title with a time of 18 minutes, 34.1 seconds.
